We assist families with accessing and paying for child care that would otherwise be incredibly difficult, or impossible to afford.

Contact us at referrals@actforchildren.org or call 312.823.1100 and press option 3. A consultant will ask a few questions to determine your needs and then send you a free, customized list of referrals to potential programs. Please complete the Child Care Referral Request Form if you prefer a Parent Consultant to contact you to assist in your child care search.

What You Can Expect

Your consultant will ask:

• how many children you have who need care
• their ages and any special needs
• the schedule of care needed
• what areas around your home would be convenient

Your consultant can help you evaluate programs and make an informed choice by:

• reviewing the types of care available
• suggesting questions to ask when visiting a center
• highlighting the signs of quality child care to look for
