Join the #GetItDoneIL Vigil!

As you know, the state of Illinois still does not have a budget for the fiscal year that is set to end on June 30th – much less a budget for the fiscal year that begins in just a few days. This is unprecedented in Illinois history. We need a budget NOW!

Join advocates in the #GetItDoneIL campaign to help end the budget impasse by attending a vigil on June 28th. Speakers will include advocates of human services impacted by the budget impasse, working families and their children, and concerned citizens and organizations. Vigils will take place in Chicago and Springfield.

James R. Thompson Center in Chicago
100 W. Randolph St.
Vigil begins at 6pm

Lincoln Statue, Illinois State Capitol in Springfield
301 S. 2nd Street
Vigil begins at 6:30pm

This campaign is not about choosing sides in the seemingly never-ending debate in Springfield. #GetItDoneIL is about coming together as citizens of this state, to demand that our elected officials do the same by passing and enacting a state budget. The consequences of inaction – ours and theirs – are simply too great to ignore.

Every state legislator and state-level elected official needs to know just how many people want and need them to get this job done!
